Ragan Research Award Contest for College Students

Communication and business students have the opportunity to publish on a public relations topic, earn an award for their work, and get paid.

The Ragan Research Award is a contest where students conduct secondary research on an important topic in the PR industry and produce a small research brief (five pages). The winner earns a $1,500 stipend, and their research paper will be published on the Institute for Public Relations (IPR) website, Ragan website, and PR Daily.

This year’s theme focuses on the future of work. Topics may include, but are not limited to: 

  • Hybrid/remote work

  • Changing nature of culture in the workplace

  • Artificial intelligence and other technologies

  • Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG)

Student Requirements:

  • Undergraduate (juniors/seniors) and graduate students in public relations, communications, or business who are studying in the United States

  • Strong written and spoken fluency in English

  • Must have at least one methodology course in research methods (e.g., survey, content analysis, experimental design, etc.)
