President George W. Bush once said, “Civility is not a tactic or sentiment. It is the determined choice of trust over cynicism, of community over chaos.” Governor M. Jodi Rell Center for Public Service wants to help build that trust by offering a “Civility Professional Development Workshop” on May 26.
The workshop will focus on building better community relationships through increased empathy, greater awareness, and decreased reactivity. During this online interactive session, participants will learn practical skills to manage incivility.
The free session will be led by the Civil Certified Master Facilitators from the Institute for Civility in Government.
Workshop sponsors include The University of Hartford Governor M. Jodi Rell Center For Public Service, CT Public, Connecticut Association of Boards Of Education, Connecticut Council of Small Towns, Connecticut Conference of Municipalities, and Connecticut legislative leaders Senate President Pro Tem Martin Looney, Senate Republican Leader Kevin Kelly, House Republican Leader Vincent Candelora, and Speaker of the House Matt Ritter.
