This Summer: Kids Come Free to Connecticut Museums

Summer means grilling, swimming, and your kids at home complaining every ten minutes that they’re bored.

Fortunately, Governor Ned Lamont announced that the Connecticut Summer at the Museum program is back this year. Connecticut children receive free admission to more than 130 museums across the state from July 1 through Sept. 5.

Children who are 18 and under – plus one accompanying Connecticut adult – receive free admission to any of the participating museums. This includes historic house museums and sites, historical societies, art museums, children’s museums, science centers, special-interest museums, natural history museums, university museums, arboretums/botanical gardens, and zoos.

“We are thrilled to bring back this popular summer enrichment program for Connecticut kids and families at a time when affordability is top of mind for so many households,” Gov. Lamont said in a press release. “The world-class museums and cultural institutions across Connecticut offer unmatched educational and recreational experiences that will keep kids engaged all season long and spark curiosity for years to come.”

The full list of participating museums — which includes The Kate, a long-time friend to MCG — is available at www.CTSummerMuseums.com.
