The Boston Red Sox Foundation Unveils the First Charity License Plates Produced in Connecticut

The Red Sox Foundation and the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles unveiled the first Boston Red Sox charity license plates purchased by Connecticut residents. The event took place at the State Capitol in Hartford on Wednesday, September 25.

After unveiling the license plate program at an event in March organized by DMC, the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles received enough applications to put the license plates into production. A portion of the proceeds from each license plate helps to fund academic scholarships for Connecticut high school students. The scholarships will be awarded based on academic talent, financial need, and a commitment to community service
