Duby McDowell and Robyn Gengras of MJC will co-chair the annual gala at the Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center. Acclaimed actress Glenn Close is this year’s recipient of the Spirit of Katharine Hepburn Award.
The award is bestowed yearly upon an individual who embodies the spirit, independence, and character of the legendary actress.
The award will be presented to Close at the organization’s Annual Summer Gala, Saturday August 26th.
The Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center, known as “The Kate,” is in Old Saybrook, Connecticut, where Hepburn spent her summers. Per Hepburn’s family, it is the only theater named after the 4-time Academy Award winning actress.
