Tiger Woods - A Lesson in Perseverance

Even if you’re not a golf fan, you’ve likely heard that Tiger Woods won the 2019 Masters. At the top of his game, Woods graced the covers of magazines, appeared on talk shows, and was named one of the greatest players of all time before the age of 30. Unfortunately, his halo didn’t shine as brightly after a messy divorce, numerous surgeries, and drug dependency. Many assumed he would never again win a major tournament. Woods’ victory at The Masters demonstrates that staying the course and focusing on the end goal takes both patience and perseverance.

Tiger Woods’ story underscores a concept that is fundamental to our work with clients: that focusing on attributes and talents is key to moving beyond past faults and failures. In addition to a good caddy and the right set of clubs, Woods had a vision for his future. He overcame crises to emerge victorious. It seems fitting from a PR perspective to take a page from Tiger’s playbook: plan accordingly, stay the course, and focus on what you do best.
