While you’re tidying up the house and freshening up the lawn this spring, don’t neglect cleaning your digital properties, too.
Here are two ways to make sure you’re sparkling for the new season.
Review your messaging and voice
Look over the messaging and voice you use across your social media pages and website. Is it still conveying the image you want to present?
Your messaging and voice are displayed prominently in both the language you use and with the types of images you post. So confirm what you’ve been publishing is actually what you’ve been aiming to portray.
Also, don’t overlook the smaller details. The fonts you choose, color palettes you use, the style of writing, and even the emojis you post all speak volumes about how you are presenting yourself.
Check for consistency
Do you publish content on a regular schedule? Are you heavily using one platform but sporadically posting on another?
Analyzing your usage habits can help determine if you’re being as effective as possible. It could also be an indicator that you may not need a platform you thought was necessary to be on. Myspace, anyone?
Take a look at your voice and messaging in this area, too. Make sure it’s consistent on all your digital assets. Those you don’t use as often should not be drastically different from your main platforms.
So do a quick revitalization online and then get back to real world cleaning. Remember, you still have that basement to tackle! 😱
