The musical “Hamilton” has immortalized the phrase, “the room where it happens.”
MCG’s founder and president, Duby McDowell, is someone who’s often in the room. We’re thrilled that the Hartford Business Journal has named her one of Hartford’s 50 Power Players. She was the only communications strategist to earn the honor.
HBJ highlighted those in the private and public sector who are not only top leaders within their organizations but also of the broader business community.
HBJ writes that McDowell “has played a role in numerous important business projects in Hartford and legislative issues at the state Capitol (not to mention helping to elect Gov. Ned Lamont). She also established the influential media blog, The Laurel, which is the go-to source for news about Connecticut journalism.”
Others who appear on the list include Governor Ned Lamont and First Lady Annie Lamont, members of the Connecticut congressional delegation, and the Hartford area’s insurance and hospital CEO’s.
