Duby McDowell Communications (DMC) announced today that Stephen Jewett will join the firm as a Senior Partner specializing in public affairs.
Jewett, 36, is currently Director of Corporate Communications and Public Affairs for ConnectiCare health plans, an EmblemHealth company. He has been an active spokesperson at both the state and national level on the health reform debate. Jewett previously worked at Griffin Hospital, where he oversaw marketing and survey research. In 2010, Jewett served as the Senior Advisor to Connecticut Attorney General George Jepsen’s successful campaign.

Jewett started his career at the Connecticut Senate Democratic Caucus and served as campaign manager for several high-profile races, including Jepsen’s 2002 bid for governor, the statewide referendum to remove the county sheriff system, and the Hartford Charter Reform campaigns. He continues to serve as a media consultant for state and federal candidates.
Jewett graduated from Trinity College, Connecticut. He earned a Masters in Survey Research at the University of Connecticut and a MBA from the UConn Executive Program. He has served on many civic boards and is currently active with the MetroHartford Alliance, the Insurance and Financial Service Cluster, The Bushnell Theater, and the CT AIDS Resource Coalition.

Jewett lives in West Hartford with his wife Abby and their two children. Abby Jewett is Director of External Affairs for AT&T in Connecticut.
