Duby McDowell Communications Changes Name to McDowell Jewett Communications as Firm Expands

Duby McDowell Communications, a leading communications and public affairs firm based in Hartford, Connecticut, is changing its company name to McDowell Jewett Communications. The new name reflects the elevation of Stephen T. Jewett to partner.

“The firm has experienced significant growth in the last few years,” says the firm’s founder, Duby McDowell. “We want to thank longtime clients Dominion Resources and the Boston Red Sox for giving us a foundation on which to grow.”

New clients have included The Jackson Laboratory, Subway, and The Delamar Hotels. As the media landscape evolves, the firm continues to increase its capabilities with social media management and national media monitoring.

“Our public affairs practice continues to grow in Connecticut, and we are now expanding our reach regionally and into Washington, D.C.  Managing the interplay between the corporate, governmental and media worlds has become an increasingly important factor in private sector success.  Accordingly, we have broadened and deepened our capacity to serve clients seamlessly across all three sectors,” says Stephen Jewett.

Before founding the firm in 2006, Duby McDowell was a correspondent at the CBS and NBC stations in Connecticut, reporting on politics and moderating public affairs interview shows. She is currently a political analyst for WFSB, the CBS affiliate for Connecticut. Steve Jewett has worked in both politics and corporate communications, most recently serving as a senior advisor for the successful campaigns of U.S. Senator Chris Murphy and Connecticut Attorney General George Jepsen.

To accommodate its recent growth, McDowell Jewett Communications has moved to new offices at 36 Trumbull Street in downtown Hartford.
